Brick Pointing
Lancashire Brickwork provides high quality re-pointing which will improve the look of your property as well as protecting your brickwork from all weathers.
Pointing is the primary weather proofing for walls so maintaining the mortar infill between the brickwork or masonry is essential for the structural integrity of a building.
Unlike many companies, we carry out traditional brickpointing using trowels rather than pointing guns and we don’t oil common bricks which can turn them black.
We also carry out patch pointing (filling in missing sections) as well as re-pointing entire façades which provides an even appearance overall. We use standard sand, cement and premixes but mortar can be dyed to match existing pointing.
Waterproof Masonry Protection Cream
Masonry cream is a gel rather than a liquid which has a better absorption rate when used on stonework or brickwork and soaks into the face 10-12mm. In addition, masonry cream can last up to 25 years depending on which products you use. Masonry protection cream is applied to masonry in a single coat by means of brush, roller, or spray. Once applied, it penetrates deeply into the masonry before curing to form a colourless, breathable water repellent barrier.
Brick Laying
Lancashire Brickwork is also available to work on new developments and construction sites such as new houses and boundary walls.
Brickwork Restoration
Lancashire Brickwork also carries out cleaning and refurbishment of brickwork such as:
- Removal of unwanted paint and rendering from brickwork.
- Weatherproofing – Sealing bricks against water penetration with the application of a silicone water sealant.
- Remove and replace broken brickwork and mortar.
- Carry out crack stitching which ties cracked walls together using helibars or reinforcing rods that allow masonry to flex slightly but hold walls in place. Helibars are stainless steel reinforcing bars for strengthening and stabilising masonry in new build and remedial applications.
